Excessive daytime sleepiness

If you have difficulty in getting out of the bed in the morning, feeling sleepy while watching television, reading new paper or books or while driving, you are suffering from this condition. Millions of Americans suffer from excessive sleepiness, a condition that can significantly reduce quality of life, decrease productivity and interfere with relationships. Most people feel tired occasionally, but excessive sleepiness that persists is neither normal nor healthy.

One of the primary causes of excessive sleepiness is self-imposed sleep deprivation. Working at night and sleeping during the day can also cause excessive sleepiness. Excessive sleepiness is also linked with a number of primary sleep disorders including, obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSA), Insomnia, Hypersomnia, Narcolepsy and other sleep disorders.

At Sleep Breathing Disorders Center of Hagerstown, we can provide a comprehensive evaluation, treatment options and solution for a good night’s sleep.
