Lung Cancer

Lung cancer can be divided into two basic types, small cell and non-small cell. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts for between 85 and 90 percent of all lung cancers; the remaining 10 to 15 percent are small cell lung cancers. This distinction is important when considering prognosis and treatment. The most important risk factor for lung cancer is tobacco use. Symptoms of lung cancer can include shortness of breath, chest pain, cough, and weight loss.
